The Rainbow
Remember when we showed you how to draw a rainbow? (See Rainbows and Chalk - 3/26/2020) and the rainbow cupcakes we used for Pete the Cat and the Missing Cupcakes (3/31/2020).
Here's a favorite poems about a... R A I N B O WS
The Rainbow
Boats sail on the rivers,
And ships sail on the seas;
But clouds that sail across the sky
Are prettier than these.
There are bridges on the rivers,
As pretty as you please;
But the bow that bridges heaven,
And overtops the trees,
And builds a road from earth to sky,
Is prettier far than these.
And ships sail on the seas;
But clouds that sail across the sky
Are prettier than these.
There are bridges on the rivers,
As pretty as you please;
But the bow that bridges heaven,
And overtops the trees,
And builds a road from earth to sky,
Is prettier far than these.
ACTIVITY:
How many things did the poet mention in this poem (like boats, rivers, ...)
Make a list and then draw or paint a rainbow and include all the things Christina Rossetti mentioned in her poem.
(I think there are 12).
Don't forget to sign your name and write the date!
