Ode to Spring! - Poetry Month

Ode to Spring!

 by Walter R. Brooks

Oh Spring,
Oh Spring,
You wonderful thing.

Oh Spring,
Oh Spring,
Oh Spring.

Oh Spring,
Oh Spring,
when the birdies sing
I feel like a king,
Oh Spring.

ACTIVITY:  Having Fun with Poetry
Poetry lends itself to creativity. Using different voices, louder or softer, high pitched or deep
can change the feel of the poem in many ways. Try these suggestions with your family. Which ones do they like best? Why?

Read the poem aloud with lots of dramatic expression.
Now try it using an accent. Be very dramatic.
Read it again like a movie star.
Perform it now like a Rapper
One more time, say it like you are in an opera!

I always think of Rainbows in the Spring. Look for the other postings about rainbows in this blog.
MORE ACTIVITIES:
PAINT a picture of your favorite thing to do in the Spring.
WRITE a few sentences describing your picture.
SHARE with others.
