Have you ever seen a caterpillar? Did you let it crawl on your hand? Maybe you saw it make a cocoon? I LOVE butterflies and love to watch them sipping from the flowers in my garden.
Here is a story about how a caterpillar changes into a butterfly. You can read along with the video:

You Need:
paint (tempera, watercolor or acrylic)
Paper
Newspaper of plastic bags to protect your working surface)
Paper towels
It is a good idea to have someone help you with this process. Then you can help them make their butterflies.
1. Spread paint on the palms of your hands.
2. Carefully place your entire hand on the left side of the paper (this will be one set of butterfly wings).
3. Place a little more paint on your hand and place it on the right side of the paper.
4. Put some brown paint on your index finger and repeatedly tap onto the paper to make the body of the caterpillar.
5. Use the photo to inspire you.
6. Wipe your hands on the paper towels.
These make great cards to send to someone special.
Remember to clean up your mess!
